- 18 slices of French bread
- 6 oz. cooked turkey, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup cream
- 3 T. unsalted butter
- 2 T. flour
- 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
- 6 streps of bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In hot water, dissolve bouillon cube and add cream. In a second saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook until the flour is dissolved. Continue stirring and add the bouillon mixture into the saucepan until it thickens and begins to bubble. Add Swiss cheese and stir.
Place turkey and onion on each slice of bread. Pour sauce over the open faced sandwich and garnish with bacon crumbles. Cook for 10 minutes.
